Who takes three trips to disney in one month?
Well, I realized that apparently I do. I was super jazzed about doing my Food and Wine Festival spread, but as I was going through my things, I realized that I took THREE trips October of 2013. That being said, this month is going to have to be split up into two spreads- the first being the two Not So Scary Halloween Parties that I attended, and next week's being the F&W Festival.
So first, I went to Pinterest to look at some Halloween layouts, and settled on the purple, green, orange color scheme. Here are the materials that I began with...
So first, I went to Pinterest to look at some Halloween layouts, and settled on the purple, green, orange color scheme. Here are the materials that I began with...
Artifacts: My Passholder book from 2013-2014 was one that I wanted to make sure to get in the book at some point!
Photos: I had some excess photos... Some of which I felt would be better suited for F&W. Also, some that I forgot to print out from F&W (doh!). So I pulled all of the party photos, plus my staple photo to make sure that it wasn't forgotten!
Background Paper: The pretty striped paper I thought would be a nice POP on an overly dark spread.
Accent Paper: I stuck with the color scheme that I found after looking through a few different places on Pinterest. A blend of green (friendly) skulls and purple diamond patterns would be the closest thing to solid I had!
New Item: I've always been somewhat intimidated by the whole concept of stickers and this was my first attempt with them... Stickers are something that I use on a day to day basis, but only in school when I'm slapping one on a paper here and there. I was afraid that my scrapbook might look like this little gem I received if I went the sticker route...

And everything was great and ready to go until my fiance said, "sure, we can go to michael's after church!"
With the intent of getting materials for next week's spread, I came across something that I couldn't resist!
see-through decal paper? don't mind if i do!
Never having seen this stuff, let alone USED it, I decided to try my luck at layering it over my background paper. A little loud, but go big or go home. The question was, "Just how busy should one's background be?" I opted for the left side.
And then, assembly!
But after this spread, here are a few things that I've learned:
First, why in the WORLD would you put a sticker on see-through paper? That was way more work than it was worth, and I STILL didn't get it off. I capitalized on the business of the paper so that the remnants of this nastiness couldn't be seen:
Secondly, I love these punches the more that I use them! this one confounded me for a good 15 minutes before I figured out that the top came off, you placed the paper inside, and MASSIVE magnets smash the thing back together so that you can punch it out! It was my favorite new item this week! It helped me make a super cute little "frame" for my sticker! I'm continuing to feel success, but mostly at the end! It's a gratifying feeling once it's complete!
