I've wanted to learn to scrapbook for so long, that i have been collecting this stuff for ages.
I've always been kinda bummed that my pictures and memories from all of my trips have done nothing but exist within my phone as digital files, or within old shoe boxes as eventual piles of "junk". My mom has called me a pack rat for as long as I can remember because I've always "collected" my memories and put them in boxes. And boxes on those. And more boxes on those boxes. The problem is that now I have LOADS of boxes, and I never bother to actually look through them! The remedy for all of this? Scrapbooking.
I rounded up one small box of memories, printed out a small collection of pictures, and finally busted out the Disney World scrapbook that I bought over a year ago. Of course, the intention was to use it a year ago, but then school, and work school, and getting engaged happened! Now I have MORE pictures to print and more artifacts from my trips to toss in, but I figured I had better start at the beginning...
disney scrapbook = all disney pictures!
Over the past three years, my (now) fiance, Samuel, and our friend, Keith, have taken multiple trips to Disney World. It started when Samuel and I chaperoned for the children's ministry trip to Disney World in July of 2012. I used to go all of the time as a kid, but Samuel was very young the last time he had been, so it was like an all new experience for him! After that trip, he was SOLD! We saved up with Keith and our other friend Andrew to afford a trip Disney World that October! It was from that amazing trip that we made the decision to buy ourselves annual passes, which we have renewed every year since. That being said, I have a total of 10 trips to scrapbook!
Allow surprised baby to demonstrate my feeling when I realized how many trips we have been on:

That being said, scrapbooking had to begin with a trip to Jo Anne's. I went through and completely RAIDED their scrapbooking section, grabbing things that I liked after looking through some Pinterest boards for ideas. Here are some of the things that I walked away with:
Some stickers that I thought would be appropriate for Food & Wine Festival pages, some for Halloween, and another pack for Character Dining pictures.
MORE stickers, and paper overload. I got a little carried away. I was trying to think through the trips that I have been on to pick pages that would be appropriate, so I have Christmas, Halloween, standard Minnie polka dots, and a few other miscellaneous. Luckily for me, the giant PAD of paper was on sale, so I got it for a steal! Also all Disney paper!
However, my pride and joy is this scrapbook:
This guy cost me a pretty penny back in July. Until today, I had never even taken the plastic wrap off! It was like Christmas to be able to take it out with the knowledge that I'm about to DO this thing!
It's an official Walt Disney World scrapbook- leather bound with an embossed title on the front. Not to mention the inlayed Castle in the middle that I think is GORGEOUS.
Look at that guy shine! Ahhh! I can't express to you how excited I am to begin this adventure! Scrapbooking has ALWAYS been something that I've wanted to learn, but it's been a huge undertaking that I've always been a little intimidated to try. It's one of those things, like most creative skills, that I feel like you have or you don't. That is why I have enlisted the help of a wonderful lady who I've known for years: My Mimi used to be my nanny while I was in elementary school, and now I tutor her grandson! She has crafting materials like no other, and has lent me these bad boys to learn how to make borders and embellishments for my pages:
This mass of mess is a box of Martha Stewart paper-crafting punches. My Mimi has a collection like I've never seen before, so I hope to be able to regale you with stories of me conquering them as I learn to scrapbook, and not them conquering me! This week I will begin working on my first few pages! I can't wait to get this show on the road!
